What Are You Becoming?
The only question that survives every season.
We ask people what they do. We ask what they want. We rarely ask what they are becoming.
It is the harder question because it cannot be answered with a title. Becoming is measured in small things: what you tolerate now that you did not before, what you no longer need to prove, how quickly you tell the truth, what you do on the days nobody is watching.
Over twelve letters we have talked about letting go, loneliness, comfort, fulfilment, hard decisions, failure, hidden pressure, environments, beginning again, and the people who shaped you. Every one of them is really the same question in different clothing.
**The lesson:** You are always becoming something. The only choice is whether it is on purpose.
**The question this week:** If nothing changed for the next two years, who would you have become — and is that acceptable to you?
