The Courage To Start Again
Beginning is easy at twenty. It is expensive later.
Starting again is not the same as starting. The first time you had nothing to protect. Now you have a reputation, a title, a story people tell about you.
That is what makes the second beginning brave. You are choosing to be a beginner in front of an audience that already knows you as competent. You will be slow at something. You will ask basic questions. Someone younger will explain things to you.
The people who manage it share one trait: they stop treating their past success as a possession to defend and start treating it as evidence that they can learn hard things.
